Richard formed Clarity in 1994 - initially as a market research firm specializing in Competitive Intelligence work and Planning Support for Diversified Industrials. 

He earned a BS from Cornell (87) and MBA from UC Berkeley (92).

Jim is a seasoned executive, having run Corporate operating divisions, PE platforms and most recently a family owned business.

He first hired Clarity in 1997 as GM of Waukesha Bearings, a division of Dover Corp and subsequently as President of Milwaukee Electronics, a contract circuit assembly business.

In 2025, Jim retired as President of Doig Corp, a distributor of motion control products - enabling him to work with Clarity again

Erik has been conducting Research in support of Clarity projects since 1996.

He has been an expert at ethical gathering of public domain information since the internet was in its infancy.

Paul is an M&A Transaction expert, having closed nearly 100 deals in his career, so far.

He first worked with Clarity in 2009 when he was heading Corporate Development at Roofing Supply Group, a Sterling Partners platform. He subsequently ran this function at ABC Supply, where he completed 37 add on acquisitions in under 5 years on the behalf of this founder led woman owned business. He has run CorpDev for several PE platforms, including GO Carwash, Valcourt and currently for USIC. In each position, he preserves time to work on Clarity projects.

Paul earned a BA in Econ from Davidson, where he was a power forward several years before the arrival of Seth Curry and an MBA from SMU

Jay Burnette is a seasoned executive, having run corporate, PE and family owned companies.

He hired Clarity as GM of Waukesha Bearings, a decade after Jim Winistorfer, where he presided over the development of Predictive Maintenance as a Service and subsequently ran TF Hudgins, merged it with Allied Reliability and sold the enterprise to Shell.

Jay earned a BS in Engineering from Purdue (89) and MBA from Lubar College.

Liz manages the Clarity back office and supports our research. She also helps Richard manage his calendar.

Liz is a heart + lungs transplant survivor of 22 years and advocate for transplant patients and their families. She earned a BA & LCSW from Binghamton University
